navigating mental health through the noise

You might be going through a tough time right now, and finding your way to counselling can feel like a big and sometimes scary step. But you’re not alone, and reaching out is a really positive move.

Talking things through with someone can bring a real sense of relief, clarity, and even hope.

My approach to counselling is warm and supportive, offering you a safe space to explore whatever’s on your mind, build resilience, and find more balance in your life.

Wherever you are on your journey, therapy can be a helpful and healing place to start.

Hi!

My name is Sophie, I’m a qualified and registered counsellor and psychotherapist, and I work with people from all walks of life who are facing a wide range of challenges.

Alongside my therapy work, I’m also a musician, and I have a special interest in supporting people in the music and creative industries. Find out more here. If that’s your world, you won’t need to explain the pressures or ups and downs - I get it, because I’ve lived it too.

As a therapist I draw on both psychodynamic and person-centered therapies. In simple terms, that means I adapt our sessions to suit you - taking elements from different models to shape a way of working that feels right for your individual needs and experiences.

Above all, my main aim is to offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard.

If you have any questions about how I work or what starting therapy might be like, I’d be really happy to talk things through with you.

How can counselling help me?

Therapy is a space where you can safely explore and gain a deeper understanding of yourself, with the support of a trained and compassionate professional.

It’s a place where both your conscious thoughts and the emotions that lie beneath the surface can gently be brought into awareness. As we explore together, you may begin to uncover your needs, motivations, and the patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others – including unresolved experiences, belief systems, and relationship dynamics.

This process can lead not only to relief from difficult symptoms, but also to the healing of past wounds and a stronger connection with who you truly are.

Through reflection and self-discovery, many people find clarity around their values, purpose, and what truly matters to them.

With growing self-awareness often comes positive change – shifts in how we see ourselves, how we connect with others, and how we live our lives in a way that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

Therapy is a collaborative and creative journey. It’s not always easy, but it can be deeply rewarding.

As your therapist, my role is to really listen and understand your world – to walk alongside you with empathy and curiosity, and to help you make sense of your experience in a way that feels meaningful to you.
